This is the title track for an album project from David Cane-Hardy, a guitar player from Eastbourne in Sussex, England.
David says:
I took up the guitar after the passing of John Martyn as a mark of respect for his outstanding contribution as a singer/songwriter and guitarist. The influence of John Martyn’s guitar technique is very evident in my playing with the use of echo, reverb and delay. My use of sustained chords, harmonics and melodic pulses creates an ever changing soundscape which is both captivating and trance-like for the listener.
I hope that my ambient guitar vibes will leave an everlasting impression that will transport the listener to far away places of tranquility and beauty.
DJ feedback & reviews:
Dr Rob, BanBanTonTon: Guitarist David Cane-Hardy trailers his forthcoming album with the title track, New Beginnings. An ambient atmosphere of pretty Echoplex-ed picking, it’s an elegant exercise in reverb and delay, and direct tribute to John Martyn. Chris Coco contributes what sounds like a live dub mix. Both are short, sweet, and soothing and could easily continue for the whole side of an LP without any complaint from me.
S/A/M (Cafe Del Mar, Ibiza): Lovely piece of uplifting and dreamy ambience...calming, serene and absolutely transports the mind into care-free places.
Mike Salta (Music For Dreams): I'm tempted to call it a sunset belter…. It has all the spices to be exactly that cinematic end of a day, and a lot more when the sun fades…. How peculiar that is, considered the title is New Beginnings…. Bu the of a day, is the beginning of a new day, or the rest of Your life….

Intoxicating euphoric ethereal psychedelic soul at it’s very best … and I do mean intoxicating, as the adventure never rises above heartbeat level, locked into a slow-paced groove bewitched by R&B inspirations from the late 60s and early 70’s that reach out of the darkness with an easy going vibe of love, joy and happiness.
